Ben Spalding
Ben Spalding is the manager of the company’s Australian business which primarily includes the Australia Ship Simulation Centre in Fremantle, Western Australia. His responsibilities extend across the whole Australasian region and include the day-to-day running of the centre, project management of all navigation studies carried out at the Simulation Centre, and developing new business in the region.
Previous to this, his role in the UK included physical modelling, ship manoeuvring studies using our Ship Simulators and port operations modelling. He has worked on a large range of green field and port expansion development projects which have included approach channel design and development, turning circle and manoeuvring area design and risk assessments. These studies often develop into specialist integrated Pilot and Tug Master professional development and familiarisation studies.
Ben has broad, extensive knowledge and experience in navigation, the marine environment, as well as geographic data and standards including International Hydrographic Organization’s (IHO) Special Publications S-57 and S-65 and United Kingdom Admiralty Charted Publications.
